Tales of love, loss, and family ties are expressed from the African American perspective in this stirring program. The works of Perkinson, Bonds, and Still are a compendium of Black composers in the 20th and 21st centuries. Gershwin takes the audience to Catfish Row for familiar tunes such as “Summertime”, “I Got Plenty O Nuttin’”, and “It Ain’t Necessarily So”.
There will be an Open Rehearsal at 10:00 am. Tickets are $10.
