Principal oboe, Virginia McDowell, is featured on one of the most beautiful concerti in the instrument’s repertoire. Ukrainian composer, Valentin Silvestrov’s Evening Serenade, is the second movement of a reverent piece that represents the “still metaphors of silence.” Prokofiev’s fifth symphony marks the composer’s return to symphonic form after a sixteen-year hiatus.
There will be an Open Rehearsal at 10:00 am. Tickets are $10.
