Webone About

Over 100 years of serving the New Orleans community with live entertainment and private events.

The Orpheum Theater opened its doors on February 7, 1921, as one of the grandest vaudeville showplaces in the United States. The ornate and opulent, vertically designed hall, one of the few remaining, provides an auditory and visual experience second to none. The recent renovations included an adjustable orchestra floor that enables our team to host private events on the same iconic stage as our own residential Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, performances by Platinum Grammy Winning artists, all-night concerts after Jazz Fest, and movie premieres of Oscar-award-winning films for Best Picture.

Without question, the Orpheum Theater is the most evolutionary theater in New Orleans. The Orpheum Theater welcomes weddings, concerts, comedy shows, Mardi Gras balls, corporate events, plays, movie premieres, galas, and business meetings under our grand ceiling, ensuring every guest can experience the aura of being in the spotlight.

Dreams do come true at the Orpheum Theater.

Getting to the Orpheum Theater:

We are located in the heart of the Theater District in Downtown New Orleans. The Theater is located at 129 Roosevelt Way, between Canal Street and Common Street. Parking for the Theater can be found next door at the privately owned Unipark Garage, 145 Roosevelt Way, where self-parking and valet parking is offered. Plenty of on-street parking and several other parking garages can be found circling the blocks around the Theater.

Box Office and Ticket Purchases:

Our Box Office opens 1 hour before showtime for ticket purchases and “Will Call” pick-up. For those wishing for a speedy entry, tickets can be purchased for all events ahead of time at Ticketmaster.com. We strongly urge all patrons to purchase tickets through an official ticketing channel – the Orpheum Theater Box Office or Ticketmaster.com. Tickets from other sources may be stolen or counterfeit and will not be honored. Ticket sales are final, with no exchanges or refunds. Everyone (regardless of age) must have a ticket to enter the Theater.

Safety and Security:

The security process is a condition of entry. Any refusal or the use of abusive, threatening, or discriminatory remarks will result in access being refused.

Prohibited items include but are not limited to cameras with an external flash or interchangeable lenses, audio/video recording devices, tripods/monopods, laser pointers, illegal substances, weapons of any kind, noise-making devices, fireworks, flashlights, optical illusions, signs/flags/banners, outside food and beverages, beach balls or projectiles, skateboards/scooters/rollerblades, cans or bottles, pets (service animals are welcome), laptops/tablets, selfie sticks, balloons, and drones.

We do not at a clear bag policy at this time. However, personal bags should not measure larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″, and all bags are subject to check. Items not permitted into the Theater must be disposed of before entry. The Orpheum Theater does not have a coat check, and we cannot accept any personal items to hold until the show’s end.

Exceptions will be made for those with disabilities, medical requirements, and special needs. Guests with specific needs due to disabilities, medical conditions, or special needs should contact us by calling (504) 274-4871 or emailing tickets@orpheumnola.com before attending the event to arrange reasonable accommodations.

Covid-19:

The Orpheum Theater no longer requires a negative PCR, proof of vaccination, or mask. At the Orpheum Theater, we follow the guidelines of the New Orleans Health Department and Center for Disease Control. If at any time, mandates are reinstated, notices will be added to each show affected.
